Alliance Forms: Plan Your Next Server and Hear From Your Team

Hello everyone,

Planning a new Travian server starts with a few simple questions: who is joining, what role do they want to play, and when can they be online? Those answers can quickly disappear in a busy Discord chat. The new Forms feature gives your alliance a dedicated place to ask, answer, and come back to the details later.

Admins can create a form on the website, share its link with the team, and review responses in one dashboard. Players sign in with Discord, answer the questions, and can update their response when their plans change if the admin enables response editing.

Try a Real Form

Want to see how it works? We published a real, three-question demo for this article. Open it, sign in with Discord, and try submitting sample answers. You can return to the same link afterward to edit your response.

This demo saves real responses. Your Discord username, ID, and answers are visible to the hosting server’s admins, who receive a notification when you submit or update a response. Please use sample answers and leave out private alliance plans.

Create Your First Form

Active license key required: Forms is available only on servers with an active license key activated through /key. Players do not need individual keys; the hosting server needs one. If its key expires, Forms access pauses and saved responses remain stored.

Run /form in your Discord server. The command is available to server admins and replies with a private link to that server’s Forms dashboard. Open the link and sign in with Discord if prompted.

Before publishing, make sure an accessible Report Channel is configured through /setup. This is where the bot sends notifications when someone submits or updates a response.

  1. In Create a form, give the form a clear title and add an optional description explaining what you need.
  2. Add between 1 and 10 questions. You can move questions up or down, duplicate them, or remove them while building the draft.
  3. Choose Preview to check the wording and see how the questions will look to respondents.
  4. Click Publish form, then use Copy link in Your forms to share it with your alliance.
Check before publishing: Use the preview to catch missing details before sharing the form. You can edit published questions later; existing responses keep the questions they originally answered.

Give Players Room to Explain

Every question uses a written answer and is required. Players can write up to 500 words per answer, with a word counter beside each field. This gives them room to explain their availability, account plans, or feedback in their own words.

The form tracks how many questions have been answered as the player fills it in. Responses are linked to the signed-in Discord account, with one response per account per form. Admins can see the respondent’s Discord username and ID alongside their answers, so these are identified responses rather than anonymous surveys.

New: Edit Published Forms Without Changing the Link

Choose Edit form on the published demo’s card in Your forms.

Run /form, open Your forms, and choose Edit form. Update the title or description, change question text, or add, remove, and reorder questions. Choose Save form changes when you are ready. The shared link stays the same.

For example, you can add a question about next-server availability after collecting your first responses. New respondents see the added question. Previous respondents keep the version they already answered and do not have to fill out the form again.

Existing answers stay intact: Editing a form does not rewrite old submissions. Each saved response keeps its original questions and answers. If response editing is enabled, previous respondents edit the questions they originally answered; new respondents see the updated form.

New: Choose Whether Responses Can Be Edited

In the form editor, find Response settings and set Allow editing after submission to Enabled or Disabled. For a published form, click Save form changes to apply the setting.

The setting applies to both new and existing responses. Existing forms allow editing unless an admin disables it. You can enable it again later without losing any saved answers.

Plans Changed? Update Your Response

When response editing is enabled, a player who has already submitted can return to the same form link, sign in with the same Discord account, and choose Edit your response. Their saved answers load back into the form. They can make changes and select Save changes, or cancel to keep the previous response.

This is useful when someone changes their planned tribe, takes on a different alliance role, or needs to adjust their playing hours. Leadership can review the updated answers in the same response instead of piecing together corrections from separate messages.

Review Answers With Your Admin Team

When a response is submitted or updated, the bot posts a notification in the configured report channel and mentions the configured admins. The message identifies the respondent and includes a direct link to view that submission in the admin dashboard.

Open Responses to review answers, filter by form, or refresh the list. Expand a response to read each question and answer together. Updated responses show an Edited badge, with the original submission time and the latest edit time inside the response.

If a Discord notification cannot be sent, the response remains saved and available to admins. The dashboard flags responses whose report notification was not confirmed.

A Few Ways to Use Forms

Keep the questions focused, explain any time zone or date requirements in the description, and share the link where your team will see it. Start with /form in Discord and build your first alliance check-in.
